Governess
Educationally focused governess, with over 15 years of experience of working with children aged 2-16, is looking for a rota position with a friendly family to tutor and care for their children.
Friendly and approachable: I believe in positive reinforcement, consistency and setting clear and achievable goals to help develop the child’s knowledge and confidence. I am kind with children, yet firm when necessary.
Enthusiastic and active: I believe in making education fun and engaging, I play the piano, guitar, ukulele, and I am a professionally trained singer. I use art, music, and dance to enhance children’s creativity and enrich their language development. I am adept at creating and discovering fun and educational games, science experiments and resources to increase children's interest in learning.
Open and honest: I provide clear reports on my charges and provide accountability for my actions. I believe communication is key to performing my job effectively and look forward to creating an active working relationship with the child’s parents, extended family, and teachers alike to be able to meet their individual expectations.
Flexible and adaptable: I have lived and worked in many different cultural environments, travelled whilst nannying, and have worked efficiently through frequently changing conditions. My previous nannying positions have required a great deal of flexibility with regards to scheduling and long hours, which I performed proficiently.
Hard working and dedicated: I have been commended by my previous employers for how work I have put into my position. In February 2012 I was awarded the bi-annual Teacher Excellence Award for my work with 4-6-year olds.
Responsible and self-motivated: First aid qualified in Paediatric First Aid, I have held many responsibilities effectively in my previous positions and I seek opportunities to go above and beyond basic childcare duties to help parents foster the physical and mental development for their children. I am adept at organising children’s daily schedules, lessons and recreational activities.
Committed and passionate: I have an innate love of children, a fondness for animals and a respect for nature. I receive much fulfilment from caring for children and helping them grow. My teaching was of a standard that my lessons were filmed to provide training for new teachers.
Experienced and educated: I have a wealth of experience of working with children in different environments, I value education highly and this is reflected in my achievements at work. With my positive reinforcement and motivational coaching my students won school prizes for dancing, singing and their written work. I have helped design courses and delivered training to other teachers to help the school achieve the most effective results in teaching. I have been actively involved with course development, designing pronunciation courses on behalf of my former employer and test writing for mid-level 6-11-year olds. Seonaid
