Governess / Nanny British
I am a hardworking, enthusiastic person with strong interpersonal skills along with the ability to learn and adapt quickly in high-pressured situations. I speak French fluently, I am competent in German and Spanish; I am also learning Russian using the Michel Thomas method. I am fascinated with child psychology and learning and development and keep up with the teachings of child psychologist Tanya Byron, whose books I read to seek advice on baby and child behavior, sleep routines, feeding, language learning and so on.
Informally, I childminded since the age of 15 and cared for 2 of my nieces from they were babies since 2008. Their mothers worked full-time so I had each child from 5 months old, 5 days a week and some weekends.
In my last position with a Russian family I cared for an 18 month old child, changing her nappies nightly at midnight and 5am and also caring for her 5 year old brother. This was 24 hours a day, 5 days per week. It was a sole charge position, I had a baby monitor at all times and the children were a delight, both in caring for and teaching English.
I also cared for an 18 month old baby boy, in a family of 4 children; babies warm to me and although I was employed to look after the older children, the mother gave me the 18 month old baby to care for as he never cried with me, and would cry a lot with the other nanny.
Formally, I have gained a lot of experience in childcare through working in a private day care nursery and as a nanny since the summer of 2015. I gained a Level II NVQ in Childcare in 2013. I have the British Red Cross certificate in First Aid and am completing a TEFL course.
I am very keen to gain a permanent position abroad, and have enjoyed working with lovely families on a temporary basis, both in the UK and Russia. I was the French tutor for 2 years in a private day care nursery in Belfast and proved to be a dedicated, reliable and resourceful member of the team - gaining experience working with all ages of children, from helping in the Baby room, to teaching in Preschool and Afterschool children.
I am looking forward to working with an International family as travel and learning about foreign cultures and languages is paramount to me in my career. I have established a close bond with the children in each household ( UHNW and VIP ), taking care of their needs whilst encouraging learning and development appropriate to their age.
I am very sporty, in particular swimming and surfing, (I swim 3 miles a week), cycling and tennis. I particularly love the outdoors and nature.
