Governess / Private tutor / Teacher
I have five years of teaching experience in Early Years, Key Stage 1, Secondary School and University. I have a passion for working with children, with a proven track record of supporting parents in the teaching and development of children. I have achieved excellent Key Stage results over the past three years and have gained outstanding lesson observation judgements from the parents of my students.
I helped build an International Kindergarten from the ground up in the capacity of an academic principle. I have been in charge of the development of the IB-PYP curriculum, enrolment of new students, build up a team of foreign and Chinese teachers and supervise the children’s nutrition program. Also, I organized a media release to promote our curriculum and the school’s official opening day.
Other daily tasks include teaching professional teaching skills to our teachers, such as classroom management and ethics, daily routines and communication skills. Besides, I regularly set up children-parent meetings as to improve the relationships between the school and households.
Apart from responsibilities concerning school management, I regularly attend international educational seminars and conferences, both in China and abroad. I am up-to-date regarding to worldwide teaching methods and current directions of early childhood education.
From 2016 to 2018 I have held a qualified teaching position in a bilingual school in Russia, on the Island of Sakhalin. I developed an Early Years Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 Mandarin Chinese curriculum for the school, along with a whole school speaking, listening and reading programme based on children’s second language acquisition order. My students made remarkable progress in relatively little time and was acclaimed by their parents. The company offered me the position of Head Teacher of Modern Foreign language. During my time working in Sakhalin, I also was a private Mandarin Chinese tutor of a little girl who studied at our school. After 6 months tutoring, she can understand Chinese very well and be able to communicate with me in Mandarin Chinese.
From 2014 till 2015, I was a Secondary School teacher in Ulan Bator, Mongolia, where I helped develop a Mandarin Chinese as a second language curriculum. My students passed HSK3 and up, after which some of them applied for a Chinese government scholarship and were granted the opportunity to attend medical universities in China. I have stayed in touch with them since.
My good sense of humour and positive outlook are key to my success and I see this as a good basis for the teamwork needed to fulfil the role of an energetic, fun and creative teacher in one of your schools. Finally, I would welcome the prospect to become an integral part of an overseas school and I hope that my application is of interest to you. I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.
