English teacher

Hello, my name is John. I am from New York City and have been living in Moscow for the past 6 years. I have worked for several schools and families, delivering high quality education according to the British National Nurriculum. I have over 10 years of experience teaching young learners from age 3 to 15, but no matter what age or teaching scenario, my approach is always consistent: delivering the highest quality teaching to whoever is in my care.

In addition to a BA in English Literature and German Studies, I hold an Post Graduate Certificate in Education and TESOL Certificate. This, combined with my experience teaching in Moscow, gives me a specific insight into teaching English as a foreign language to young learners.

I like to build a personal relationship with my students by getting to know their individual personality and interests. Each student is unique in his or her own way and therefore a teacher's approach should be flexible and accommodating.

I love being active, and in my work I am also always calm and approachable. For children, being active in learning and playing is great! But without focus, it can be detrimental for learning and personal development. What I can bring is structure, goals and a sense of achievement. In this way children know thier routine, understand the learning outcome of any particular activity we're doing and develop confidence in their own ability while enjoying the learning process.
