Dear parents and prospective employers, I am a teacher/tutor with five years of experience in the field of education. My background in developmental psychology gives me a unique perspective on and approach to the learning environment. My main focus in teaching and in raising children is not the memorization of facts or control of behavior, but learning and development on a deeper level. I approach each child as an individual, focusing on helping him discover who he is – talents, abilities, passions, and interests – and then growing and developing his potential. In my work, I strive to create a safe environment where each child can be himself. Why? Because psychology shows us that it is in such an environment that a child learns and develops best. This environment creates a safe place where children feel free to explore, try new things, make mistakes, try again, and leave their comfort zone – all of which are vital for growth and development. This safe environment invites children to access their full potential. I like to approach learning tasks creatively – putting together interactive lessons and exercises that allow children to fully immerse themselves in the topic. I enjoy making my lessons experiential and hands-on so that children gain a deeper understanding of the subject. I work both individually and in small groups. I am a native of North Carolina, USA. I moved to Moscow in 2014. In 2018 I completed my masters in developmental psychology at Moscow State University of Psychology and Education and moved into the field of teaching. I have five years of experience working in international schools here in Moscow. I have also worked with students with mild and moderate levels of disability.
