Governess or Governor / Tutor or Teacher
About
My name is Robert, and I’m an American English teacher who has spent many years living and working abroad. I’ve taught in the United States,China and Russia, working with everyone from kindergarten children, high school students, and adults. I also run my own English tutoring business. Some of my favorite teaching experiences have been with younger children, especially when I can turn an ordinary activity into an opportunity to learn something new. I’ve found that children respond best when you take an interest in them as individuals and make learning feel natural rather than forced. I enjoy being creative, getting children involved, and helping them feel comfortable speaking English without worrying about making mistakes. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from San Jose State University in California, along with years of experience communicating with people from different backgrounds. I’m now looking for an opportunity where I can put that experience to good use, build a genuine connection with a family, and help their children develop their English in everyday life.
