Russian language skills are not a must.

Although there are some jobs that require knowledge of Russian language, in most cases you don’t have to possess Russian language skills.

Most families prefer that a nanny / governess / governor speak only their native language to the children and most people in Russia have at least basic English language skills.

For trial period in Russia, a tourist visa is provided by a family and after successful trial period business visa or work visa are provided for long-term work.

There is usually a housekeeper in a family who cleans the house, although the nanny / governess is to keep the child’s area clean, and it is required to keep clean the accommodation provided for the nanny.

For a full-time long term job there is usually 5 weeks paid annual leave provided.

For a rota job (2 weeks on / 2 weeks off), no holidays are provided.

Each family has their own conditions.

In most cases families provide separate apartment for accommodation, or separate room in their house (or in a staff house).

Sometimes it can be required to share a room with a child (for example, during travel with the family).

Yes, for long-term period trial period could take from 1 week up to 3 months.

For part-time position it could take from 1 day up to 2 weeks.

Yes,trial period is paid by family.

Insurance is not provided in most cases, but some families could provide.

Salary is gross, family doesn’t pay tax for Nanny / Governess in most cases, but it could be discussed with family.

Family usually pays in the end of each working month by bank transfer to the nanny / governess’s bank account, or as mutually agreed.

The way of payment is also discussed with Employer , usually families choose to pay by bank transfer to nanny / governess.

Usually it is by Employer’s discretion, but in most case there is no dress code, but nanny / governess should have neat appearance and follow the style of clothing previously agreed with family.
