Sport coach / Ski instructor
My name is Corentin, I am 24 years old and in 2016 I graduated from Joseph Fourier University with a (BS Hons) Degree in Science and Technology of Physical and Sports Activities. I have always been interested in sports since I was young.
I have travelled extensively during the past few years and have been lucky enough to travel to New Zealand, Greece, Sicily and Singapore to name a few.
I believe my love for sport and travel is what made me follow a career in skiing and ultimately become a ski instructor for Ecole de ski Français, as well as a Freeride World Qualifier skiing competitor.
I have worked for Ecole de ski Français for the past 5 years, teaching young children and adults how to ski and snowboard. I grew up in the French Alps so feel very lucky that I am able to expand my knowledge and expertise onto families who want to learn more about alpine sports and overall enjoy their winter holidays.
I spend the majority of my time teaching British and French holidaymakers, I also have clients who book their children into lessons with me every year consecutively, many of these families visiting from the Middle East, for example Saudi Arabia, and Dubai, as well as countries such as Israel, China, and Russia.
I work a lot with children of all ages ranging from 2-13 years. I believe every child should have the pleasure of experiencing snow and the outdoors so helping to facilitate this makes me feel very proud. I am more than comfortable when speaking English and French, but always try to learn a little bit of each individual client’s language if I can, so as to fully engage with them. I pride myself on being professional, serious when needed, but mostly trying to have fun and allow my consumers to do the same.
This job requires me to be kind, patient, reliable and encouraging, as many children at first do not like the idea of skiing as it can be quite hard work and exhausting for them. Every day is different, depending on weather and how the child is feeling mentally and physically, therefore I have to adapt my lessons as well as making them exciting and stimulating so they really get the best out of their short time on the slopes.
I would describe myself as dynamic, sporty, enthusiastic and trustworthy. I am always looking for the next challenge and enjoy staying active, while having a good time!
